Camden Windjammer Festival

Maine is a community rich in Maritime history and culture. The Camden windjammer festival is our community's recognition of the part that these vessels play within that culture.

The quaint seaside town of Camden will welcome us to their harbor for an evening of fun events including the annual crew talent show, not to be missed!

The rest of your week will spent sailing and exploring islands giving you a real taste of what the story of Maine has to offer.

Annual Labor Day Trip

A bit of a tradition on the VICTORY CHIMES, this cruise has many people who have been sailing with us for a long time. They like to sail hard and make tracks.

With the coming of September, the winds in Maine begin to pick up, and with the combination of the incredible coast and the growing level of the wind, the weeks in September offer some of the best coastal sailing you can find in the world.

Wooden Boat Sail-In

Wooden Boats! Maine is full of them; it is one of the things that makes this place so special. On this week, the windjammer fleet will sail into Wooden Boat harbor, and the Wooden boat school of Brooklin Maine will invite us to stroll through their beautiful grounds, tour the school and have steamed mussels with them.

It is a gathering they hold for the windjammers every year, offering an opportunity to see the fleet underway, and it's a beautiful Maine tradition.

On this trip, we're even adding more to the sights - by adding sound; Randy Clepper will be aboard (again!)

Randy will be joining Cara for some wonderful renditions of folk and traditional tunes from her wide and storied travels. When they played together last season it was a sweetly moving memory. We were at anchor in a scenic cove, it was after dinner and we were all on deck, enjoying the deepening dusk.

Imagine it: cozily aboard this grand old ship when magically, with the subtlety of baking bread filling a house with its aroma, wonderful tunes come into the air and a great day becomes a special day.

Last season, when we thought - "wow, we should do this again," we weren't kidding! Click here for a taste of that wonderful day and learn more about Randy by clicking the picture of him & Cara playing together last year.

Summer's Siren Song, Featuring The Clavicles

Fall begins on September 23rd, so this sail is - literally - the last sail of the "Summer."

In September, the days still shine long, the winds are grand fun, and the meals are as hearty, tasty and spoiling as ever. It's still summer and the sun still sets after dinner. This will be great timing for our Sea Great Music feature - The Clavicles.

Our Summer Concert Series aboard brings such talented acoustic artists along for the trip. Typically playing for a time in the evening -  though rollicking, joyful jam sessions with Cara, and anyone else that's thought to bring an instrument aboard, do coalesce upon occasion - these always soulful interludes are a sweet complement to the charm and history of our ship, and a great way to end a day of coastal scenery, island exploring and even small boat excursions that you can take.

Imagine relaxing on deck in the dimming dusk while lovely music is played live. Some folks simply retire to their rooms and soak in the magic of it all from their cozy cabin. It really is memorable and special to have live music aboard and The Clavicles ethereal tunes are a welcome last accent to the season's collection of varied and valued groups.

To learn more about them and to hear their music, just click on their picture.

The Big Wind Up - Yoga / Wellness Trip

You know those wild images of baseball pitchers that are taken as they wind up before pitching the ball? That's this cruise; the one before we let it go.

The sailing's sweeter this time of year, the wind is wonderful and everyone on the water knows how special these last trips are. The Secret of September is lingering and, with a wink and nod, we all know it.  We're lucky to be out here, on the water sailing the jeweled waters of coastal Maine.

To make it even more special and relaxing, we're again featuring Yoga, Wellness practices and Irish music!

Nourish your body with healthy meals, and take in the beauty around you while you enjoy a massage or reiki session. Your evenings will be filled the beautiful and ancient melodies of traditional Irish Music. A wonderful combination!

Any summer heat is typically gone; it's all about coziness now: comfy sweaters, practicing wellness and relaxing yoga.

Come along and be treated like welcome family to enjoy the Big Windup, relaxing wellness features, and lovely Irish music of this penultimate cruise.

The Last Pitch - featuring Gordon Ward

Here it is, the last pitch; we've loaded the bases with memories and Captain Sikkema points to the horizon like Babe Ruth on his famous called home run.

The 'Chimes was only thirty-two then. She's still hitting homers and loading the bases today. Come close out the season with us and sail on this last trip to celebrate the season, toast it farewell and enjoy the kicker of having Gordon Ward perform for us.

From Winter Harbor, Maine and dubbed "The Total Package" by his fans as a consummate performer, songwriter, instrumentalist and storyteller, Gordon is "one of the best singer-songwriters working in the
Americana/indie scene today.”

September winds will be at their finest, which will make this trip feel full of adventure.  As we enjoy the last few days of sailing for the year, it may be a little chilly, but crisp fall air lends a feeling of nostalgia to the surroundings, and as the leaves begin to turn, it will only make the scenery that much more breathtaking. And don't worry, there is always a fresh mug of hot tea or coffee waiting for you any time of the day.

You're going to enjoy Gordon's music and you're going to remember this trip. Click the picture of Gordon to learn more and put this cruise on your short list for your choice to book with us.
